Graduation 2024

Graduation 2024 is scheduled to take place on Friday 1 November 2024 in The Great Hall at the Guildhall. The ceremony is for graduating students and their families and guests. We will be celebrating the achievements of our graduating students by presenting them with their awards, as well as Honorary Fellowships, Gold Medals and special prizes.

Students expecting to graduate are reminded to ensure that all of their contact information held by the School is up to date and to check their student email accounts regularly, including after their studies have finished, for updates and information regarding the 2024 graduation ceremony. 

Students will be invited to register their tickets online and are advised to check their student email account for further details.

Ceremony details

The timings for the Graduation Ceremony on Friday 1 November 2024 are:

Ticket Registration

Ticket registration for Graduation 2024 will open on 12 August 2024 at 00.00. All eligible graduates will receive an email from Registry (registry@gsmd.ac.uk) inviting them to visit the online booking system. Please look out for this email, ensuring to check your spam folder. If you have not received this email and believe you are eligible to attend the 2024 graduation ceremony please contact graduationenquiries@gsmd.ac.uk.

Any remaining guest tickets will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, including those wishing to buy additional guest tickets. Any available tickets will be released as extra tickets on Monday 7 October 2024.

The online booking system will close on Wednesday 23 October at 23.59.

When registering, please check that all of the pre-populated information is correct (including student ID, name and programme of study). All students are required to book to attend. Student tickets are free. You will be asked to specify how many guest tickets you would like to purchase (there will be a maximum number of guest tickets allocated to each eligible graduand in the first instance).  All guest tickets will be charged at £25 each.

Students unable to attend Graduation Day should email Registry with the address to which their certificate should be sent. They can also email graduationenquiries@gsmd.ac.uk if they wish their name to be read out at the ceremony.

The booking for robing will open on Monday 12 August 2024 and close on Friday 18 October. Robing booked after 11 October 2024 may incur additional charges. Students may apply for a robing refund up to 7 days before the ceremony takes place.

Official photography does not need to be pre-booked and will be available on the day. Please note: queues are likely to happen. It is therefore recommended to plan in advance.
