Guildhall School announces new online centre for under 18s
Guildhall Young Artists Online will enable young musicians to access high-quality training from Guildhall School tutors and industry professionals, in a fun and supportive environment
The online centre will offer 1:1 music tuition and a selection of courses throughout the year specially tailored for 8–18 year olds and led by staff from either Junior Guildhall, Centres for Young Musicians or Guildhall School. The online offer for autumn includes 1:1 music tuition and a nine week course for young composers.
Anyone from the age of 8–18 can access 1:1 tuition, with no previous experience or knowledge required. Tutors will be selected to fit individual requirements and experience.
A range of 5 and 10 lesson packages are available, at the following introductory offer prices:
£29 per half hour: 10 lessons
£55 per hour: 10 lessons
£35 per half hour: 5 lessons
£65 per hour: 5 lessons
Lessons can be booked at anytime throughout the school term and will take place by mutual arrangement with the student and tutor.
The Young Composers Course is a unique opportunity for young musicians to receive one-to-one tutoring, undertake workshops and hear their own composition performed by staff and students from Junior Guildhall and Guildhall School.
Students can apply for an individual course option of one term (8.5 hours tuition over 9 weeks) for autumn 2021, spring and summer 2022, or an Annual Course option, for young composers wanting to progress their composition skills over the space of 8+ months and receive 25.5 hours of tuition. This annual option, which will see completion of the autumn term course, right through to the 2022 summer term, includes added benefits such as a masterclass with Julian Phillips, Head of Composition at Guildhall School, in addition to a £150 discount.
The deadline for applications for the autumn term, including the Annual Course, is 1 September, 5pm.
