Event Information
Performed by singers and repetiteurs from the first year of the Guildhall Opera Course, Opera Makers features new works written by composers and librettists on Guildhall’s MA in Opera Making & Writing alongside a selection of opera scenes by French composers Ravel and Poulenc.
The three new operas being premiered in this production are Lantern Fish by composer Luka Venter and librettist David Bottomley; Lost Property by composer Anna Disley-Simpson and librettist Olivia Bell; and Reborns by composer Elif Nur Karlidag and librettist Stanley Lawson.
Please note these operas contain themes of death, suicide, abuse, mental illness, bereavement and animal cruelty. Haze and flashing lights will be used.
Approximate running time: 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
