Guildhall alumni recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019

Congratulations to the alumni, fellows and friends of Guildhall School who have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019.
Simon Russell Beale (Acting 1983) was awarded a Knighthood for services to drama. Beale was recently nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Actor in The Lehman Trilogy, with co-stars Ben Miles (Acting 1988) and Adam Godley nominated alongside him.
Jazz singer Jacqui Dankworth (Acting 1984 and Fellow) was awarded an MBE for services to music. While at Guildhall, she played Terry in the 1983 European premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, which returns to the Guildhall stage this summer. Conductor Dr Tim Reynish was awarded an MBE for services to music.
