Guildhall School presents alumni Sally Greene OBE and Nicky Spence OBE with Fellowships

Guildhall School has presented Fellowships to entrepreneur Sally Greene OBE and singer Nicky Spence OBE, recognising the outstanding achievements that have followed their own studies at the School.
Sally Greene is a well-established figure in the UK arts scene, as the founder and supporter of many artistic endeavours, including the rescue of the Richmond Theatre from closure, the restoration of the Criterion Theatre in the West End and legendary Soho based Jazz club Ronnie Scott’s, and the formation of The Old Vic Theatre Trust. She founded Greene Light Stage in 1993, which has co-produced or partnered in more than 100 productions in the West End and on Broadway, most notably the award-winning Billy Elliott: The Musical.
Sally joined Guildhall School Principal Professor Jonathan Vaughan and Guildhall School board member, Deputy Randall Anderson on the stage of Milton Court Concert Hall to receive her fellowship, before a performance by Guildhall Jazz Orchestra and Choir, featuring British-Nigerian singer/songwriter Ola Onabulé.
Nicky Spence is one of the UK’s most acclaimed singers, receiving critical praise and international recognition for his performances as a tenor for The Royal Opera, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, The Metropolitan Opera, New York, Opéra de Paris and Berlin State Opera. He was named BBC Music Magazine's Personality of the Year in 2022, received the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Singer Award in 2024, and is currently President of the Independent Society of Musicians.
Nicky was presented with his Fellowship by Professor Jonathan Vaughan and Guildhall School Chair The Right Honourable Emily Benn before giving a masterclass to Guildhall Vocal department students.
