Research projects
Guildhall Production Studio are engaging in a variety of research projects, which includes studying and developing a best practice for cutting edge digital theatre craft. In 2023, Guildhall School of Music & Drama received a major capital grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) through the Creative Capabilities & Research Fund (CResCa). This enabled Guildhall Production Studio to procure a groundbreaking volumetric capture system from 4DViews.
Guildhall Production Studio also joined forces with tech innovators Target3D. This key partnership is now able to offer one of the best equipped locations for immersive production in the capital. This is enabling the development of project and research allowing the Guildhall School to explore the digitisation of theatrical production and live stagecraft whilst maintaining the traditional techniques and processes that make each discipline truly unique.
