Head of Guildhall Young Artists Norwich
Permanent, part-time (24.5 hours per week)
Salary: £54,470 - £61,840 (pro rata), inclusive of London Weighting, depending on experience/performance.
Location: Working from home and City of Norwich School (Saturdays during GYA term time). Please note the Saturday centre will be located at Wymondham High Academy from Autumn term 2025.
Guildhall Young Artists Norwich, is the city’s exciting Saturday performing arts centre offering a range of classes and performance opportunities for 5-to-18-year old’s from across Norfolk and beyond. Based at City of Norwich School young people develop their individual creativity and access high quality training across a variety of styles and genres.
We seek to appoint an energetic and dynamic musician, drama or production arts practitioner and administrator with a strong track-record of education sector delivery and organisational development to ensure that Guildhall Young Artists Norwich provides an excellent creative education to every child and young person who attends.
The successful candidate will be committed to developing young students, from a variety of backgrounds, to reach their full potential. They will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, who can build positive relationships with parents/carers, staff, students, and partners, and will maintain a culture which fosters collaboration, innovation, diversity, and a lateral approach to problem solving.
The new leader of this growing centre will manage a varied portfolio of tasks, including Safeguarding, an upcoming centre venue move, and management responsibilities (including budgeting). He/She will have a proven track record as a practitioner and educator, have sound artistic judgement and a passion for encouraging artistic excellence in a creative work environment.

Administrative Assistant (Music Education Islington)
Fixed-Term (6 months), full time (35 hours per week)
Salary range: £31,120- £34,180 per annum (including Inner London Weighting), depending on experience/performance.
Guildhall School is the lead delivery organisation for Music Education Islington (MEI) the Music Education Hub for the London Borough of Islington. MEI is led by Islington Council and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, in partnership with Music in Secondary Schools Trust and leading arts organisations and funders, as well as the Islington Community of Schools.
In this busy role you will be responsible for providing high level administrative support for Music Education Islington (MEI) day to day work, in particular supporting the running of MEI’s weekly Music Centres. You will join a vibrant team and work extensively with Islington City Council and other external partners.
The ability to be self-motivated, maintain high standards and remain calm under pressure is essential. You will have an excellent communication, numeracy and time management skills, advanced MS Office and IT competency. Ideal candidate should have strong organisational and administrative skills. Knowledge of classical/contemporary/popular music, drama or production arts would be an advantage.

We are seeking an inspirational individual to take up the post of Acting Tutor: Screen and Digital, who will lead on this enhanced strand of work on the BA acting programme and contribute to its development across the Drama Department.
Our training is highly regarded in the industry for the passion, quality and rigour of the teaching: renowned for the combined focus on craft training, care and attention to individual student development, and the strong ensemble ethic shared by staff and students. We place inclusive, pioneering and progressive practice at the core of our training.
We are seeking someone with current working industry experience and networks to lead on and develop this area of practice. As screen work (across TV, film and digital) will form the bulk of an actor’s portfolio we are ambitious to develop our teaching and learning in acting for camera, self-taping, live streaming and screen project work to ensure our students are developing the craft and experience they need to flourish. In addition, as online platforms, gaming, VR and hybrid practice continue to play a fundamental role in the innovation and delivery of the arts, it is crucial our students have an experience of working at the forefront of these technologies.

This dual role will be responsible for providing a high quality professional administrative service and supporting the day-to-day running of the HR Office and the Finance Office. A proven track record of personal assistance to senior level roles is essential, ideally in local government or educational institution.
The successful candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a calm, flexible and ordered approach. Experience of providing administrative support is also essential. This role is eligible for hybrid working.

We are seeking applications for an exceptional academic leader with a distinguished record of institutional leadership to become our new Head of Learning & Teaching. This is a newly established role that will make a major contribution to the School’s Strategic Plan 2030 and beyond. The role holder will provide strategic leadership ensuring continual enhancement towards a ‘one school’ learning and teaching culture. The role holder will be responsible for stewarding the evolution of the School’s education and training toward common frameworks and systems that recognise and embrace the uniqueness of our disciplines.
The School is an internationally acclaimed, contemporary conservatoire providing world-leading education, training, and research in the performing arts. Our mission to inspire the extraordinary is underpinned by a learning and teaching culture founded on exceptional education and training. The Head of Learning & Teaching will play a significant role in leading and overseeing workstreams, systems, and operations relating to learning and teaching, academic quality and standards, and the student experience.
We are looking for an ambitious academic leader with a record of successfully achieving strategic innovation and enhancement in demonstrably world-leading learning, teaching, and education. The Head of Learning & Teaching will contribute significantly to the achievement of the School’s strategic ambitions. This will include refreshing and extending the School’s disciplinary scope and range; remodelling and rebuilding our current lifelong learning portfolio; embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion in the heart of our curricula; developing interdisciplinary provision; strengthening intersections between learning and teaching, research and knowledge exchange; and further enhancing staff support and professional development.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of education management within Higher Education settings, and experience of working in a performing arts context. You will have the ability to make a leading contribution to the School’s profile and public-facing activities (e.g. through research, sector engagement, external networks); and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Manager

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join Student Services at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in our newly created role of Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Manager.
Our student experience, learning, and teaching are all world leading. We aim to ensure the dignity, respect, and safety of our students through effective prevention and robust response to all forms of sexual misconduct, violence, and harassment.
The Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Manager role is a unique opportunity to establish and lead our sexual violence prevention and response service. This will be an exciting challenge for a dynamic and collaborative candidate to build a specialised community of practice for students and staff in an area of significant priority for UK higher education.
The role holder will work in partnership with staff and departments across Guildhall School, providing trauma-informed, individual, and impartial support to students who have experienced sexual misconduct, violence, and harassment. The role holder will lead the development and delivery of a range of policies, procedures, and training, to ensure regulatory compliance, and sector best practice.
The role holder will ideally have experience of delivering individual support, advice, and guidance to adults who have experienced sexual violence. They will have specialist expertise and understanding of the impact of sexual violence. The role holder will also ideally possess an accredited Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVA) qualification. We welcome applicants without this, but with demonstrable and relevant professional experience.

Senior Student Experience Officer
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary Range: £42,750– £47,620 (including Inner London Weighting) per annum, depending on experience/performance
We are a prestigious, specialist higher education institution with taught degree awarding powers, looking for an experienced Higher Education professional to provide support for student casework.
As a small institution, the role holder’s duties will be wide ranging and the role offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of activities within a busy, hardworking, and friendly Registry team. The role holder will work closely with the Assistant Registrar (Student Experience) and with staff in the Music, Drama and Research Departments.
The seccessful role holder will need to have relevant experience in a higher education institution, dealing with student casework such as complaints and disciplinary procedures. The successful role holder will have strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365), and have a commitment to excellent customer service.

The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head of Student Services (Student Support) to join our dynamic Student Services team. This pivotal role will support our mission to provide exceptional student services and enhance the overall student experience at our prestigious institution.
To be considered for this role you must have extensive experience of working in student services in Higher Education. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the processes for handling student and staff enquiries across Guildhall School, ensuring effective assessment and referral for student wellbeing, disability and mental health enquiries, and referral to specialist members of staff within the team, counsellors, safeguarding and external support services. Strongly comitted to safeguarding the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults, with the careful handling of sensitive information, you will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and have the ability to effectively influence others.
