Payment schedule
GYA King's Cross course fees are invoiced on a termly basis. When a student joins half way through a term course, fees are adjusted appropriately.
Please see our term dates for information.
Five-Week Trial Period
All new students benefit from a five-week trial period (payable) before committing to the annual membership agreement.
After the five-week trial period:
- If you decide to continue: The remaining term fees will become invoiced
- If you choose to withdraw: No further fees will be charged
The five-week deposit/trial payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Notice Period
After the five-week trial period, students are enrolled on an annual membership basis, committing to the full academic year.
Guildhall Young Artists King's Cross requires half a term's notice in writing to withdraw from studies.
Please note, where the required half-term's notice has not been given in writing, the relevant half-term's fees will remain payable. This is required to fulfil obligations to the professional tutors, pay for facilities and to encourage you to be fully committed to the courses chosen.
We regret it is not possible to give refunds in the event of absence as the Centre has to continue paying professional tutors and overheads. GYA King’s Cross expects as close to 100% attendance as possible, to ensure you develop and get the most out of your membership.
Financial Support & Bursaries
We are committed to ensuring our courses are accessible to everyone and are proud to offer a number of Guildhall Young Artists bursaries. Bursaries are means-tested and will enable students to have some or all of their class fees paid for.
Please note, we are not able to offer bursaries for ‘Creativity Starts Here’.
Students of School Year 3 or above attending GYA King’s Cross and living in a household with a residual income of less than £50,000* may apply (please note that full bursaries are only available to those with a household income of below £33,000 – applications with a higher household income will be considered for a partial award).
*The residual household income is the total gross taxable income from the household, reducing that by the amount of Private Pension Plans, AVC’s, or other taxable allowances which is then further reduced by £1,130 for each child/student in the household who are financially dependent on the family.
These bursaries will be reviewed annually and subject to commitment and satisfactory progress. GYA King’s Cross will also need to provide updates about bursary recipients to Guildhall School of Music & Drama for monitoring purposes, and you may be asked to contribute towards evaluation of the bursary.
To apply for a bursary please contact GYA King’s Cross gyakingscross@gsmd.ac.uk. All bursary applications will be considered in strict confidence and with reference to the strict criteria for bursary funding
