Biography

Rachel Sherry graduated with an MA in music from Birmingham University, followed by the Postgraduate Vocal Course at the Royal Academy of Music. She has performed all over Europe in baroque and contemporary opera, oratorio and recital together with radio and television appearances both as a session singer and soloist. 

Rachel specialises in working with young singers to ensure their healthy vocal development and in 2018 she was named on the Royal Academy of Music’s honours list for her services teaching singers of school age. Rachel examines and adjudicates in national competitions. She was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2014. Rachel has a flourishing private vocal studio. From 2015-2020 she was Head of Vocal Studies at Stowe School and has taught singing at Junior Guildhall for many years.
