Biography
Having trained at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Charles spent a 40-year career in the theatre and events industry specialising in rigging, stage engineering and technical operations. Senior roles as Shows Coordinator and Technical Director at the Royal Albert Hall and Chief Technician for the Millennium Dome project were followed by 15 years as Commercial Director of Hall Stage Ltd, manufacturers of Silk Street Theatre’s counterweight system, installed the year before Charles started at Guildhall as a student.
In 2021, Charles created and launched the ABTT Virtual Ideas Platform, with Guildhall School’s Innovation Funding support, to encourage and foster innovation and technical creativity in the UK theatre industry. www.abtt.vip
