Audition/Interview Arrangements
When you apply to Guildhall School and meet our entry criteria, you will be offered an audition, interview or portfolio/application assessment designed to assess attainment and potential.
Please find a brief overview of these below. For details of the audition and interview arrangements for each programme, please follow the links.
Applications for 2025/26 entry to our BA Acting programme open on 30 September 2024.
The Acting audition procedure is a three-stage process: the first round audition, the second round audition and the final recall audition. You must pass each stage in order to proceed to the next.
First round auditions are by submission of a self-recorded audition video.
Second round and final recall auditions will be held in person.

The MA Acting programme is no longer offered. Guildhall accepts the same number of students on to its Acting programmes via the BA (Hons) Acting programme. Applicants who have a university degree but are seeking a drama school training are encouraged to consider applying for the BA instead, the fees for which are charged at the same rate.

Applications for 2025/26 entry for our BA Production Arts, BA Digital Design & Production, BA Performance Design and MA Collaborative Performance Making open on 30 September 2024.
When you apply for a Production Arts programme and meet our entry criteria, an interview will be scheduled for you.

Special Arrangements for Applicants with Declared Disabilities
We will consider all reasonable adjustments to enable you to achieve the very best from your audition or interview. You will be asked to provide details of any adjustments you may require on your application form, but you can also contact us directly using the contact details below.
For students who have a physical disability which will affect access arrangements, we will ensure auditions are held in a room with step-free access.
It is not necessary to request extra time as our auditions and interviews are not normally time-limited. However, if you are required to take sight reading or a test, and declare a visual impairment and/or dysgraphia/dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties, you will be entitled to extra time.
Please note, only BMus applicants in the following departments can expect to have a sight reading or a test at audition:
- Composition
- Vocal
- Wind, Brass & Percussion
