Biography

Itamar Rashkovsky began playing the violin under the guidance of Natasha Boyarsky. Accepted to the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music at the age of 10, he continued studying with Professor Boyarsky on a full scholarship that was generously funded by the Tsukanov Foundation.    

A passionate educator, Itamar currently serves on the violin faculty of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (Junior Department), and the New Virtuosi International Mastercourse and Festivals where he serves as the Leader of the Listener Programme. His students have enjoyed numerous successes under his tutelage and have gone on to win prizes at both domestic and international competitions and receive scholarships at leading conservatoires in the UK and USA.

Throughout his career, Itamar has performed in the UK, USA, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, Croatia, and Slovenia in a number of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, and the Israeli Opera House. In competitions, Itamar was awarded 1st prize at the Gordon Turner Memorial and Peter Morrison Concerto Competitions at the Royal College of Music JD. Internationally, his accolades include being a finalist and laureate of multiple international competitions, including the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition in Germany and the Enkor International Piano and Violin Competition.    

Itamar graduated from the University of Manchester with first-class honours in Politics and International Relations. During his studies, he won the University of Manchester Concerto Competition for two consecutive years and co-founded and directed the New Stars International Music Competition.
