Our team are on hand to inspire and raise awareness of progression within Production Arts, Music and Drama. From virtual talks to careers fairs – explore how you can work with Guildhall School to support your student’s journey into creative and performance higher education.
Schools and Colleges
Each year our team works closely with schools and colleges to offer a range of opportunities for you, and for your creative students looking to progress to degree level at Guildhall School.
Ranked as number one in Arts, Drama & Music (Complete University Guide 2024), as well as one of the top ten performing arts institutions in the world (QS World University Rankings 2023), our course portfolio covers a wide breadth of creative and performance subject areas from Costume to Jazz. We are on hand to offer advice and guidance through talks and webinars and events and fairs, to help your students explore Guildhall and find the right specialism for their future studies.
We work closely with Schools and Colleges around the world, to build links and provide insight into the creative higher education industry.
Termly Newsletter – Each term we send a newsletter to provide updates on Guildhall, conservatoires and the performing arts sector. We also announce our upcoming team activity, including opportunities for you and your students to get involved in workshops and CPD events. As part of the GSCN, when possible, we offer subsidised and discounted tickets to events and shows across Guildhall and the Barbican.
We deliver in-person talks throughout school and colleges in the UK, as well as virtually via a platform convenient for you. We offer talks on various topics, such as:
Introduction to Guildhall School of Music and Drama – Learn more about life at one of the UK's top conservatoires based in the heart of London. This session will cover an overview of study at Guildhall across our three subject areas, including applications, auditions and living in halls.
Guildhall School Subject Talks – Explore our Music, Drama or Production Arts courses. These sessions are for students who wish to gain an in-depth look into a subject area at Guildhall. Each talk offers an exciting insight into what makes our courses special, including facilities, work placements and employability.

As well as events and talks, we offer a range of virtual activity for UK and international students to take part in from home. From monthly webinars covering key topics to support students on their journey to Guildhall, as well social media takeovers hosted by current students and staff.
Our team and student ambassadors attend in-person and virtual fairs throughout the academic year. Careers and Higher Education fairs are a great place to introduce yourself to Guildhall and pick up a copy of our prospectus.
Careers Fairs – If you wish to invite Guildhall to participate in your event, please contact marketing@gsmd.ac.uk. Please note our attendance will be subject to scheduling, and may not always be possible.
Higher Education Exhibitions – Each year we bring a taste of Guildhall to you, by travelling to large scale higher education fairs around the UK. Explore our upcoming events below to see if we are coming to a city near you.

Open days – Discover our world leading facilities across our Milton Court and Silk Street campuses, located in the heart of London. Our open days are a great chance to meet our staff and students to learn all about Guildhall. Each year we offer a variety of open events, from Q&As to departmental events.

Guildhall School is a member of the Federation of Drama Schools, founded in 2017 to represent conservatoire arts training in the UK.
FDS Schools represent the highest standards of training within the vocational drama sector. Each member school of the federation works closely together to share best practice and collaborate on activity to provide impartial information, advice and guidance to students interested in studying performance and production arts.
Alongside collaboration, each member school has a shared ethos focusing on key principles such as a commitment to equality and diversity, building links with industry and identifying opportunities for enhancement in our ever-changing sector.

Guildhall School of Music and Drama is also a member of Conservatoires UK. CUK is the voice of conservatoire education in the UK. Their role is to develop best practice for training and education in the performing arts and to promote the sector’s excellence nationally and globally.

Access and Participation
Our Access and Participation team run a number of projects for young people who are currently underrepresented in Higher Education, and specifically at Guildhall School. You can find out more about these free opportunities on the Access and Participation webpages, and by contacting wp@gsmd.ac.uk.
Guildhall Young Artists
Guildhall Young Artists is Guildhall School’s network of centres across the country, providing inspiring performing and production arts training for children and young people. To find out more or to send a request please get in touch with gya-enquiries@gsmd.ac.uk.
Short Courses & Summer Schools
For students looking for an insight into what life at Guildhall School might be like, we offer a huge variety of in-person and online Short Courses & Summer Schools, within many of the programmes offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These are taught by industry professionals including Guildhall School tutors. We also occasionally offer courses for academics and practitioners. Music Education Islington
Music Education Islington is the Music Education Hub for the London Borough of Islington. The hub works with more than 50 Islington Schools each year to offer a wealth of diverse opportunities for children and young people in Islington to access world-class music education, resources and creative experiences. These opportunities include in-school teaching with music professionals, opportunities to play in ensembles and perform, access to high-quality music experiences, discounts or free provision for those on low incomes and an instrument loan service.
