Biography

Annemette Verspeak is a voice, text and singing coach. She trained as a singer in Scandinavia and holds a BA in Linguistics and Communication, and an MA in Voice Studies.

She has taught across British drama schools and is Head of Voice at Guildhall School. 

Her theatre credits include: The Soldier’s Tale (Royal Opera House); The History Boys, The Coram Boy and Caroline, or Change (National Theatre); Orestes, Bronte, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Romeo and Juliet (Shared Experience); The Roaring Girl, Arden of Faversham (Royal Shakespeare Company); Much Ado About Nothing (Watford Palace); Once on This Island (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); Othello, All’s Well that Ends Well, Three Sisters (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse). She is the director for Google Voice Search/Home. 

Screen includes: Eastenders (BBC), Billy Goat Gruff’s (Hattrick), Badehotellet (TV2, DK), Starwars Rogue One, Margrethe – Queen of the North (Nordisk film), Miss Smilla’s Sense of Snow (in production for ITV and Netflix).

Workshops include: Poetry and the Feminine Heart (Finland); Voice and Text before Rehearsals (Acteursbelangen, Amsterdam); NAFAS: a Series of Workshops to Empower Women and Children (Kabul, Afghanistan). The latter project was translated into a theatre piece and shown at Reel Afghanistan; an Afghan arts festival in Scotland. 

With her ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching she delivers individual and team coaching on Embodied Leadership.
