Biography

As a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Bex honed her craft on the BA Technical Theatre and Stage Management course, specialising in Stage Management. Since graduating, Bex has worked freelance on a range of productions including musicals, plays, opera, dance, and circus. Her career has taken her to theatres in the West End, across the UK, and internationally, with a particular focus on the role of Deputy Stage Manager, as well as working at the Royal Academy of Music as the Assistant Company Manager for the Opera School. Highlights of her time as a freelancer include: King Lear (Wyndham’s Theatre and The Shed, NYC), Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol (Southbank Centre),  Footloose the Musical (Dubai Opera House), The Mousetrap (St Martin’s Theatre), Twelfth Night, Taming of the Shrew and Merchant of Venice (Shakespeare’s Globe), Albert Herring and Lucio Silla (Buxton Opera House), Le Grande Macarbe and The Fairy Queen (Barbican Concert Hall) and A Feast with the Gods (Hampton Court Palace).

In addition to her professional practice, Bex has a strong background in education. She trained as a teacher, earning a PGCE from Kingston University, followed by a Master’s in Education with a focus on Special Educational Needs from Anglia Ruskin University. Bex’s passion for stage management and education led her to a career in teaching. She began as a Stage Management Lecturer at Guildhall and now holds the Interim position of Deputy Programme Leader for Production Arts, a role she is thoroughly enjoying.
