Biography
Duncan (far left in the photo) has been a member of the English National Opera orchestra since 1997 and has played with the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra.
He began learning the Double Bass at his local comprehensive school before gaining a place at Chetham's School of Music and going on to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where he had the opportunity to play Schubert's Trout Quintet with Lynn Harrell and Imogen Cooper and go on the European Union Youth Orchestra tour of South America.
Duncan has been living in Norfolk since 2007 and has been teaching the Bass locally at Norwich High School and Wymondham College and has taken Bass sectional rehearsals for the NCYO. He has also taught as a visiting teacher at Junior Guildhall and Junior Royal Academy schools in London.
Duncan has been at GYA Norwich since 2015 teaching Double Bass and taking part in the Junior and Intermediate string ensemble
