Biography

Ed has worked in music education for over twenty years, first as a classroom practitioner and then as Director of Music at Wycliffe College at Queen’s College, Taunton. He studied music at the University of Exeter, including organ with Paul Morgan, and spent time working at Wells Cathedral School, where he attained his Associateship of the Royal College of Organists, before completing a PGCE in Secondary Music at Bath Spa University College in 2001. 

Ed taught classroom music from year 4 to 13, including A Level Music and Music Technology, and ran all types of music, from choirs to jazz bands to drumming ensembles. As well as running numerous concerts of all sizes over the years and being Musical Director of many shows, he also led successful tours to Belgium and Chicago. Ed has been the accompanist for hundreds of students, from Grade 1 to diploma level. Ed has performed as an organist in various venues and regularly plays at local churches in the southwest. 

As well as working at GYA Taunton, Ed continues to be active as a musician, teacher, and accompanist throughout Somerset.
