Biography

Since graduating from the Leeds College of Music (BA Hons, July 1999) and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Postgraduate Diploma in Jazz Performance, July 2000) Ollie has worked in numerous ensembles across the contemporary music spectrum.Jazz credits include: The London Jazz Orchestra, National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Back to Basie Band, Combustible Alarms, Sax Appeal, Enigma Orchestra, Nelson Riddle Orchestra. As well as numerous smaller groups, Ollie also writes and arranges for his own Quartet, and co-leads the Blow Saxophone Quartet.Ollie has worked in the commercial sector, with live and session credits for 19 Management, Island Records, Edwyn Collins, Jamie Cullum, Amy Winehouse, Tim Minchin, Stornoway, Alice Russell, Zarif and Andy Yorke to his name. In addition he works as a pit player and has played in many West End productions, including Chicago, The Rat Pack, Dancing In The Streets and Blood Brothers.Ollie’s Exploring Jazz books, published by Schott, are available at music and book shops worldwide.
