Biography
Stephanie Gonley studied with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School, New York, and with Ilan Gronich at the Berlin Hochschule. Winner of the 1986 Shell LSO Competition, she has appeared as soloist with most of the leading UK orchestras as well as many abroad.
She is leader of the Scottish Chamber since 2015 and the English Chamber Orchestra since 1991. She directs and plays as soloist with both orchestras regularly.
Stephanie was leader of the Vellinger String Quartet, winners of the 1994 London International String Quartet Competition. Her current chamber music activities include regular concert performances and recordings with the Nash Ensemble.
