About Music Starts Here
This is a fun and engaging 45 minute music programme for very young children delivered by our expert Tutor. Using singing, movement games and percussion, children will absorb all the elements needed to make a confident, well-rounded musician.
They explore their own musicality, develop language and communication skills, grow in confidence and increase their ability to express themselves, in a supportive and safe environment.
Children will be prepared to naturally progress into the next group and the wider offer and the Tutor will advise parents on a case by case basis.
We offer a Music Starts Here Morning Group and a Music Starts Here Afternoon Group:
- 10.00am - 10.45am Music Starts Here Morning Group
- 1.30pm – 2.15pm Music Starts Here Afternoon Group
We encourage students to spend 5 weeks (half a term) in the Music Starts Here programme to ensure their musical foundations are secure. After this, children have the option of enhancing their membership to join our 30 minute Introduction to Instruments exploration classes in wind, keyboard and strings at no additional charge.
Tutors who lead these groups will get to know students’ individual aptitudes and musical interests and will guide them on a case-by-case basis to take up 30 minute 1:1 or paired instrumental lessons and join our 45 minute Introduction to Ensembles groups (Keyboard, Wind/Brass and Strings) when they are ready. This progression route prepares our youngest learners to move on through to Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced studies over time.
Looking for private tuition with one of our expert tutors? Book a 30 minute instrumental or vocal lesson, to be taken alongside Music Starts Here. Register your interest when signing up for a course.

Half a term’s notice is required to stop attending (except in exceptional circumstances). This notice period is required to fulfil obligations to the professional tutors, pay for facilities and to encourage you to be fully committed to the courses chosen.
