Biography

Agatha Giannini - CV

What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

Ever since starting Guildhall, there have been many highlights which have filled me with great pride. However, stage managing vocal scenes was one of the biggest ones, a small-scale production with a technical team of 4 people. It allowed me to learn so much about how a production works and about myself as a theatre practitioner.  Being on my own for most of the project allowed me to grow and learn from my mistakes and make the most of every challenge I was faced with. Overall, coming from such a different country and background, every role I had the chance to fill has taught me so much and made me considerably grow as a theatre practitioner.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

After Guildhall, I would like to keep my options open and not limit myself, however, I would like to work in medium scale operas, contemporary circus shows and site-specific shows, as I really enjoy working with singers and circus artists. Moreover, I would like to work in shows and company where the job description is not all, as they are funded on collaboration and passion for the final product. Overall, I would like to work in anything that is music-based, as it has been a big part of my formation so far, and it is something I would love to keep working with.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

One of the main things I've learned and best advice I was given during my time at Guildhall was from Caroline Moores and it was "find the familiar in the unfamiliar". This has helped me navigate those overwhelming moments I've encountered during my time at Guildhall as well as being my main strategy when approaching a new role. Therefore, I am aiming to put it into practice when I am out in the industry as well. Find confidence in myself from the things I know how to do, and from there tackle the things I don't know.
