‘The perfect combination of music and lyric’.  

This project explores some of the great composers and lyricists of the twentieth-century American Songbook (Berlin, Porter, Arlen & Mercer, Bacharach & David) alongside the work of their British counterparts (Noel Gay, Noel Coward, Lionel Bart, Newley & Bricusse).  

Alison Wells leads this an evening of songs that have long-lasting resonance and meaning and continue to be re-interpreted by new generations of performers ‘as time goes by’.
