Event information
Following their work with Guildhall composition students, distinguished composer Eva-Maria Houben and saxophonist Artur Vidal join for an enchanting and immersive recital.
Artur Vidal's Stones in the Bow invites you to be part of the performance - bring your voice or instrument and experience a surprise that transforms listeners into creators.
The evening continues with works by Eva-Maria Houben which reflect aspects of her book Musical Practices as a Form of Life.
Her six postludes for piano tells us how we assure each other and ourselves of the presence of the past, asking: what has happened, and what is happening now?
The duo piece coming to a halt explores how we can celebrate our disorientation between stopping and going on, while skywritings, for solo saxophone, reflects secret calligraphies and personal messages to a beloved person.
