Event information
Join Guildhall Symphony Orchestra for an awe-inspiring evening of music in Barbican Hall, conducted by alumnus Roberto González-Monjas.
Taking us on a vivid and breathtaking symphonic journey through the majestic Alps, Richard Strauss’s epic, exhilarating An Alpine Symphony invites audiences to experience all of nature’s grandeur - from serene valleys to towering peaks.
Before that, enjoy Anders Hillborg’s mesmerising Eleven Gates, and Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings - a work renowned for its haunting lyricism and poetic beauty, which shines the spotlight on two outstanding student soloists.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of Peter Gane FGSM, Head of the Wind, Brass and Percussion department from 1988 to 2008.
