Event information

Our boundary-pushing Ubu Ensemble, directed by Simon Wills, performs captivating 20th and 21st-century music, presenting fresh perspectives and new sonic worlds.

Peter Garland's Three Songs of Mad Coyote immerses you in the mysticism of the American Southwest, while Steve Reich's Clapping Music explores rhythmic precision through the power of human percussion, and Tōru Takemitsu's Waves evokes the fluid beauty of the ocean with an atmospheric soundscape.

Completing the programme is Harrison Birtwistle’s mesmerising Silbury Air alongside brand-new short chamber works inspired by the piece by two Guildhall postgrad composers: Zhuoer Zhou and Darius Paymai.
