About Alessandro Borgomanero

Born in Rome, Alessandro Borgomanero graduated in 1992 from The Mozarteum, Salzburg in the class of Ruggiero Ricci, continuing his studies with Boris Belkin in Siena, Salvatore Accardo in Cremona and Rodolfo Bonucci in Rome.

As a soloist he has performed with numerous orchestras including the London Mozart Players, Berlin Chamber Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, New York Sinfonietta and Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. In 2002 he gave the first performance of Shostakovich Violin Concerto no 2 in Brazil, and in 2015 he gave the premiere of Helene Rasquier’s concerto for violin and saxophone at the Carnegie Hall, New York.

As a recitalist and as a member of the Mozarteum Quartet he has given highly acclaimed performances at such prestigious venues as the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Salle Pleyel in Paris and Palao de la Musica in Barcelona.

His various recordings include 2 CDs with the Mozarteum Quartet and Wenzel Fuchs, principal clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic, and also 21st century Brazilian concertos as soloist, leader and artistic director of the Goiás Philharmonic Orchestra.

He combines his musical activities in Europe with those as Professor of Violin at the Federal University in Goiás. Alessandro plays on a violin by Antonio Stradivari in Cremona, 1688.
