Centre for Young Musicians (CYM) is proud to manage the London Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO), London’s premier youth orchestra for young musicians aged 14–19 who have reached at least Grade 7 on their instrument. LSSO courses take place during the Winter, Spring and Summer school holidays, with many members returning every year.

Applications for LSSO holiday courses 2024/25 open Monday 2 September 2024, and close Wednesday 2 October 2024. Late applications will be considered if spaces are available. Please email lsso@gsmd.ac.uk if you have missed the deadline.

Musical experience

Include details of how long they have been playing, and the most recent grade or approximate playing standard achieved. Additionally, please provide the name of their current instrumental teacher(s).
Does the applicant attend any Music Centres, Music Hubs/Services or Junior Departments of higher education establishments?

Ensemble playing
This could include participation in school bands, orchestras, chamber groups, or any other collaborative music-making activities the applicant would like us to consider.
