Asian Premiere of a new Violin Concerto by alumnus Raymond Yiu
Date: 14th and 15th February 2025
Venue: Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall

Following the premiere of Raymond Yiu’s Old Bei with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 2021, Jaap van Zweden conducts another HK Phil commission by the Hong Kong composer - a Violin Concerto that pays homage to the tumultuous life and prolific legacy of the great Chinese violinist, Ma Sicong. The work was especially written for soloist Esther Yoo, who wowed Hong Kong audiences as a young prodigy in 2013.
