Biography

Molly Hands CV
What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

My highlight so far has been my time as an ASM on Macbeth. I was able to work on a piece of theatre I really enjoy, and had the additional challenge of propping and working to a tight schedule as we were in rep with another show. I was also the book cover, and had the opportunity to call 30 minutes of our final matinee. It was by no means an easy show to cue, and I was really proud of what I achieved with limited time to practice.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

I have been exploring the specific experiences of women in theatre, and have been focusing on this especially during the latter half of my second year as my experience and time training has progressed. This is in terms of performers, production artists and creatives. I’ve been observing and unpacking the ways in which implicit bias, common misogyny and the embedded patriarchal structures that surround us play out in theatrical settings and conservatoires, and I'm looking forward to exploring this subject more in my graduation project.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

I am most interested in working in drama and musical theatre, with a specific interest in queer and feminist works.
