Event information
London’s premier youth orchestra returns with a programme featuring two giants of the orchestral repertoire and two exciting new works.
The adventure begins with Sibelius’s dreamy tone poem En Saga – an evocative and profoundly personal piece that pulls you deep into a world of pure imagination. The evening takes us via two newly commissioned pieces by alumni of the Centre for Young Musicians, Danyal Dhondy and Joshua Borin, before bringing the story to a close with Rachmaninov’s radiant final symphony, performed in the composer's 150th-anniversary year.
Concerts with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra are always a testament to the passion, energy and verve of young people, and this will be no exception. Expect to be dazzled by a ‘triumph of skill, energy and collaborative commitment’ (Evening Standard) as these talented young musicians come together to share their love of music.
