Guildhall School staff, alumni and supporters honoured in the New Year Honours List 2025

Congratulations to the following staff, alumni and supporters of Guildhall School who were recognised in the New Year Honours List 2025:
Professor John Harle OBE
Ivor Novello award-winning composer, saxophonist, record producer and educator, Professor John Harle has received an OBE for services to music. At Guildhall, John is a Professor of Music & Interdisciplinary Practice, Electronic & Produced Music, and Saxophone, as well as holding roles at the School as Director of The Leadership Academy and Bauhaus Band.
Sarah Lancashire CBE (Acting 1986)
Acclaimed for her compelling performances in Happy Valley and Julia, BAFTA-winning actress Sarah Lancashire has been awarded a CBE for services to drama.
Myleene Klass MBE (Junior Guildhall)
A passionate advocate for women’s health and miscarriage awareness, musician and broadcaster Myleene Klass received an MBE for her contributions to these causes and to charity.
Alison Kay BEM (Music 1986)
Alison Kay, founder of the Poole Society for Young Musicians, was awarded a BEM for services to the arts and to young people.
Professor Geoffrey Crossick MBE
Academic and Governor of Guildhall School, Professor Geoffrey Crossick received an MBE for his services to the arts and to education.
Peter Young MBE
Peter Young was awarded an MBE for services to music and drama education in London. Peter was chair of The Guildhall School Trust from 2012-16, a trustee from 2007, and is a longstanding and generous supporter of the School and our students.
