Guildhall Studio Orchestra plays Bacharach

Callum Au directs Guildhall Studio Orchestra in a programme of Burt Bacharach's finest musical gifts, heard here in brand new arrangements by Au, Guildhall alumnus Richard Balcombe and a team of Guildhall student arrangers. Tonight, we celebrate a legacy in song almost unparalleled in the musical firmament.

Callum Au is a British composer, arranger, orchestrator, and trombonist. He writes music across a wide range of genres, with a particular passion for big band and large jazz ensemble music. He is highly regarded for his stylistic awareness and versatility and has worked with some of the world’s biggest artists.

Luca Manning blends the sounds of Jazz, Alt Pop, and Faerie Folk to create ethereal transcendent lullabies and visceral sonic responses to the messy navigation of the human experience. Introduced as a ‘relatively mysterious artist’ by Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 6 music), Luca remains a provocative and experimental artist who is deeply committed to asking more questions than providing answers
