Biography
What’s been your highlight in the industry?
My highlight of working the industry is being able to work on Les Miserables in the West End as a lighting dep carrying out both followspot plots and stage LX plots. I have also really enjoyed working as Associate Lighting Designer for L’Olimpiade produced by Vache Baroque. I really enjoyed the challenge of working outside in an outdoor site-specific venue and being able to think of creative solutions to design and technical problems.
What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?
I have really enjoyed researching and working on safe spaces in theatre. During my time as a production assistant, I took great pride in being able to create a quiet space for the team working on the production which was greatly appreciated and boosted people’s morale.
What’s something you’ve learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?
I have learnt the importance of soft people skills and how to manage working relationships and get along with others no matter any personal differences. I have also learnt of the significance of making a good first impression.
What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?
I am most interested in working in lighting design and programming after I graduate. I have a particular interest in opera, dance and theatre although enjoy working in all art forms. I also enjoy working in video engineering for opera and theatre and am keen to explore that discipline further.
