Congratulations to the Guildhall School alumni and staff members nominated at The Ivors Composer Awards.

Three Guildhall School Jazz professors have been nominated in the Jazz Composition category; Brigitte Beraha for composing Dreams, Nikki Iles for The Caged Bird and Ivo Neame for The Rise of the Lizard People.
Alumna Tansy Davies (Composition 1998) has been nominated in the Small Chamber Composition category for composing Nightingales: Ultra-Deep Field. Composition professor Dr Laura Bowler has also been nominated in the same category, for composing Wicked Problems.
Alumnus Thomas Adès (Composition 1989) has been nominated in the Vocal or Choral Composition category for composing Gyökér (Root).
The winners of the awards will be announced on Wednesday 8 December at the British Museum in London.
Each winner will receive an Ivor Novello Award. Recognised as a pinnacle of achievement since they were first presented in 1956, an Ivor represents peer recognition as they are judged by fellow composers and music creators.
