The Ivors Classical Awards 2023
Congratulations to the three distinguished Guildhall School alumni who won prestigious Ivor Novello Awards at The Ivors Classical Awards 2023.
The remarkable achievement was announced during the ceremony at the British Film Institute on Tuesday 14 November, with the following alumni taking home awards:
Thomas Adès, CBE, FGS - Best Chamber Ensemble Composition, for Növények
Dobrinka Tabakova - Best Community and Participation Composition in association with ABRSM, for Swarm Fanfares
Tansy Davies FGS - Outstanding Works Collection
Reflecting on her Outstanding Works Collection Award and her time as a Guildhall School student, Tansy Davies commented:
“I’m thrilled with the award and hope that this moment for me can be a source of inspiration for others, especially for the composers of the future. I have wonderful memories of my time at Guildhall School, it was a wholly enriching and life changing experience.”
Guildhall School also offers congratulations to the other alumni, staff and students who received nominations from The Ivors Classical Awards 2023, including Dr Bushra El-Turk, Duncan MacLeod, Cevanne, Joby Talbot, William Marsey, Toby Young and Omri Kochavi.
The notable success of the School’s alumni at this year’s ceremony underscores the exceptional talent and artistic prowess fostered by Guildhall School. The School takes immense pride in the accomplishments of its alumni and offers heartfelt congratulations to these outstanding individuals.
