Guildhall staff, alumni and Honorary Fellows recognised in 2022 New Year Honours

Congratulations to the Guildhall staff, alumni and Fellows of the School who have been recognised in the 2022 New Year Honours.
John Gilhooly OBE, Director of Wigmore Hall and Guildhall School Honorary Fellow, has been awarded a CBE for services to Music.
Guildhall School Jazz professor Nikki Iles received a BEM for services to Music, and an MBE was awarded to Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, co-founder of Boy Blue and Guildhall School Electronic Music professor & Honorary Fellow, for services to Hip-Hop Dance and Music.
Daniel Craig (Acting 1991) has been made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, the same honour given to James Bond, for services to Film and Theatre.
William Russell, Guildhall School Fellow, member of the School's Board of Governors and former Lord Mayor of the City of London, has been awarded a knighthood for services to financial innovation, culture and well-being in the City of London, particularly during COVID-19.
