BA Production Arts (Costume) graduate Alice Dearman talks about her time at Guildhall and her experience of working on The Crown in her professional work placement.
We caught up with recent BA Production Arts (Costume) graduate Alice Dearman about her time at Guildhall School and found out what she’s up to now.

Why did you want to study at Guildhall School?
AD: I decided to come to Guildhall because I love theatre. Theatrical costume has always been a passion of mine and after visiting an open day at Guildhall I knew that was where I wanted to study. In particular it was the practical nature of the course and how; due to the very small pathway sizes, our education could be tailored to what we wanted to do.
What was your highlight of your time at Guildhall School?
AD: At Guildhall, I have had many experiences working on a wide range of productions including period and contemporary Drama and Opera. One of the highlights of this was the Summer Musical in my first year, Merrily We Roll Along working on a big scale production was so much fun and I loved being a member of a bigger team. Additionally, during my time at Guildhall, I actually changed my mind and decided I wanted to look more at opportunities in the Film and Television industry. I spoke with one of my tutors who worked in Film and TV and she put me in touch with various professionals in the industry; I proceeded to do some work experience on Season 4 of The Crown. This was definitely one of the biggest highlights of my time at Guildhall.

How is life after Guildhall? What are you working on now?
AD: Life after Guildhall is amazing! I was really anxious about starting freelancing but things picked up shortly after I finished last summer. I have recently been doing some one off daily work on the new series of Bridgerton, and I have just joined the team on a new film; Wonka as a Costume PA. None of this would have been possible without the experiences and networking that I received at Guildhall and I am so excited to see what the future holds.
