A Belgium-focussed dissemination event held at Ghent's Ha Concert
Hosted by Ghent University College of Applied Sciences and Arts (HOGENT) in collaboration with Ha'Concerts and the international project partners of Play Ground, a collaboration of organisations from the European Jazz Network who share expertise around music practices and projects with disadvantaged children.
The event comprised of a Keynote lecture by Gillian Howell, a research introduction and sharing of the survey results for Belgium, a panel discussion and active discussion groups about two analysis topics (1) dynamics of social impact, and (2) emotional challenges of music practitioners in the field. We ended the day with a performance by Mais Quelle Chanson, a Ghent-based community choir for children.
The public reached were mainly musician-practitioners active in the field of socially engaged music practices in Belgium, but also policy representatives, researchers and professionals from music organisations.
With thanks to Esther Vandenbergh for illustrating the day.
