Biography

From 2004–6 Alison was a member of BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists scheme, under whose auspices she gave concerts at the Wigmore Hall and with all of the BBC orchestras, including the BBC Symphony and Sir Andrew Davis, and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. 

In 2006 Alison won Young British Classical Performer at the Classical Brits, going on to win Female Artist of the Year in 2009 and 2011.

Alison has performed all over the world including with the LA and Hong Kong Philharmonics, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and at Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, the Prague Spring Festival and the Last Night of the Proms.

She has released 12 records for EMI including Seraph, featuring a work written for her by Scottish composer James MacMillan. 

In 2013 she toured the US and Asia with Scottish Ensemble, and appeared at Shakespeare’s Globe in Gabriel, a new play by Samuel Adamson about the history of the trumpet.
