Biography

Lennie began his career as a writer, writing an episode of Screenplay in 1988, and The Bill in 1990. In 1991, Lennie featured as Baptist in The Orchid House, and in Civvies in 1992. In 1993, Lennie featured in the TV film Comics, an in A Touch of Frost and Love Hurts in 1994.

In 1995 and 1996, Lennie featured in 12 episodes of crime drama Out of the Blue, and in Cold Feet and Undercover Heart in 1998. Lennie also appeared in the films Les Misérables, Lost in Space and Among Giants in 1998. He featured in the film Elephant Juice in 1999.

In 2000, Lennie had his breakout role in Guy Ritchie’s Snatched. In the same year, Lennie also wrote and featured in the autobiographical TV film Storm Damage, which was nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Drama Series. In 2001, Lennie appeared in films Lucky Break and The Martins, and 24 Hour Party People in 2002.

Lennie featured in the prison drama Buried in 2003, as well as the short film Without You. In 2004, Lennie appeared in drama Family Business and narrated the TV movie Stealing Lives. Lennie also wrote the play The Sons of Charlie Paora, which opened at London's Royal Court Theatre in 2004.

In 2005, Lennie featured in the action-adventure film Sahara, as well as ShakespeaRe-Told’s A Midsummer Night's Dream on the BBC and the TV film Born with Two Mothers.

Lennie appeared in TV shows Spooks, The State Within and The Family Man in 2006, and in the thriller Outlaw in 2007. He starred in the post-apocalyptic drama series Jericho from 2006-08.

Lennie appeared in the TV drama Fallout in 2008, as well as appearing in an episode of Lie to Me. In 2009, Lennie featured in the TV miniseries The Prisoner.

In 2010, Lennie appeared in episodes of the TV series Human Target, and in 2012, he starred as DCI Tony Gates in BBC’s Line of Duty.

In 2010, he guest-starred as Morgan Jones in the pilot episode of the AMC series The Walking Dead, and he reprised his role in episodes in the third season fifth seasons. Lennie returned as a main cast member in the show's sixth season until the eighth season. In 2018, he became a series regular of spin-off show Fear the Walking Dead.

Lennie starred in the medical drama Critical in 2015. In 2017, Lennie appeared in films Double Play and Blade Runner 2049.

Lennie created, wrote and starred in the drama series Save Me, which was released in 2018. Series two, Save Me Too, was released in 2020. The drama won an RTS Television Award in the ‘Drama – Writer’ category in 2019 and a BAFTA TV Award for best Drama Series in 2021.

In 2021, Lennie voiced Barnabas in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.
