How do you would describe your practice?

I am a Rapper, Performer and Practitioner, who adopts several forms of creative writing: spoken word, script writing, poetry and lyric writing, which all serve my artistic output and identity. I also Direct Music Videos and Staged Performances (Please see links for examples of work, musically and as a director). Throughout my time at Guildhall I have developed a writing framework and approach, which is in continual development, however I adopted this method during the creation of my Final Performance and second EP, Deja 2.

What’s one thing that your PACE training has taught you?
  • Ways of thinking and creating
  • How to engage with my body as an instrument
  • Value of the art of collaboration and the importance of conversation
  • Enjoy the challenge, embrace the unknown
What’s one project that has shaped your development?

The Pop Up Project has had the greatest impact on me as a Writer and Performer. We created individual performances and staged them around London. I wrote and performed a 15 minute, 1 man play called Ghost on the Underground (GOTU), which was staged on London Underground between Royal Oak - Hammersmith, on the Hammersmith and City Line! This piece was inspired by my time commuting and the variation of people all around us every day, tackling the issues we all face and see, yet ignore (e.g. Homelessness). This was by far the most challenging performance I had ever done, as it was in Public to a captive audience. I enjoyed the freedom of expression, the creative challenge and the performances themselves (available upon request - filmed version and script), broadened my capabilities as an artist.

Is there a particular project or tutor that has inspired you?

Our training has introduced us the standard of the creative industry's expectations; through craft 121s, group craft workshops, collaborative projects and independent artistic and entrepreneurial exploration. In these sessions I have harnessed my Lyric Writing and Performance crafts, working with professional practitioners, practicing daily and developing a creative framework and method, that serves me beyond Guildhall. I have so far devised the following frameworks and approaches, which I use as an artist and practitioner: Writing, Movement and Facilitation (available upon request). The main subjects I studied during the PACE Course were: Spoken Word, Movement, Performance, Directing and Facilitation.

What are your ambitions for when you graduate and leave at Guildhall?

I will be a successful Rap Artist, combining the others elements of my identity within my work (performing and directing). I leave Guildhall by releasing an EP which will act as a spring board into the industry. I aim to continue to build my fan base through regular performances, releases and consistent media presence, whilst collaborating with platforms and artists, expanding my network and artistic output. I have built a team to support me to achieve my goal: Manager, Camera Man, Band and Marketing Team. I already have performance experience and a media presence, I feel now is the right time to propel my surge into the industry. Whilst I recognise that my crafts are in constant development.
