Biography

Originally training as an actor at Guildford School of Acting, Pema went on to work as an actor, director and stage manager before taking up teaching. She has many years of experience in teaching drama and music to groups of all ages and she has directed a wide range of plays.  An experienced workshop facilitator, her specialisms include teaching acting, movement, voice, improvisation, devising, creative writing, and yoga for wellbeing. 

Pema has been an Associate Tutor in the Drama Department of the University of East Anglia and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  In 2017 she completed her PhD at UEA, for which she created a number of autobiographical performance art works. 

Pema is also an experienced singer and musician and she has co-produced an album of original music.
