Biography
As a creative director within production arts, Steve has built his career specialising in Olympic ceremonies and large-scale events.
He has contributed to 16 consecutive Olympic Games spanning Barcelona 1992 to Beijing 2022, where he has held many technical and creative positions. For the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, his scope of responsibility as Head of Mass Movement Choreography included working with three creative teams to deliver the artistic vision for mass cast scenes in four ceremonies; developing the logistics and staging for the Parade of Athletes; live-action direction and troubleshooting from the control room during each show; designing the audition curriculum and leading the instruction of 16,000 volunteer performers; leading the team of 29 mass movement choreographers deployed between three rehearsal venues; and building and editing the technical scripts for the production.
Other credits include Special Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Paralympics, Asian Games and the Beyoncé and Paul McCartney Super Bowl Halftime Shows in 2013 and 2015.
From 1988 to 2000, Steve held a publication design career in New York City (1988 to 2000), which included serving as Corporate Art Director for Condé Nast Publications where he oversaw projects promoting a roster of 17 magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Wired, and Condé Nast Traveller. He has held the positions of Promotion Art Director for Mirabella and Managing Promotion Art Director for The New Yorker.
