What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

I really enjoyed working on ‘The Angel Esmeralda’ as the Props Maker. The Designer for this opera, Gregor Donnelly, was terrific to work with and gave me a lot of creative flexibility to imagine, design and realise the prop of a Fire Hydrant, which enabled me to expand my mold making skills and pushed me to problem solve everyday.

What's been your highlight in the industry?

I worked as a freelancer for Boo Productions around their busy Christmas period. I really enjoyed being part of the team and having a supervisor who was confident in my ability to be given a task and get it done to a high standard.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

Working on my Graduation Project really gave me the chance to throw myself into the challenge of creating a life-sized section of a plane crash. I found a huge sense of satisfaction in bringing my vision from research to reality and using my skills learnt at Guildhall as well as exploring new ones.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

I have learnt so much from Guildhall, but a crucial skill that I will always use is communication. We were always pushed to organise meetings, keep emails up to date and constantly keep a line of communication between yourself and the relevant departments and this was always reflected in how smoothly the production process went.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

I am most enthused by Prop making, but I enjoy using my Scenic Art and Construction skills where there's opportunity. My fascination for theatre is what brought me to this course and now I hope to use my skills in theatre, film or live events.
