Biography
What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?
It is near impossible to select a singular defining moment of my time at Guildhall so far, as each role has taught me valuable new skills that have shaped the way I work, however working as ASM (Book Cover) on Dance Nation in January was a particularly enjoyable experience. Our Town by Thornton Wilder was an incredible and challenging experience- it unlocked new capabilities and developed my work as a practitioner further than I imagined it would. It was the show where I really began to put my theory into practice and has been the show I thrived in.
What's been your highlight in the industry?
I was fortunate enough to work with the costume team at Peaky Blinders: The Rise while it was open in Camden. I worked as a dresser, in costume and it opened me up to the world of immersive theatre. It was an incredible experience that provided me with invaluable experience and also allowed me to be fully immersed in the show. The experience of dressing in a professional environment was exciting and brought new challenges and problem-solving skills every day.
What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?
I’ve explored costume and sound and have hopes to take on both in my final year. I was luckily given the chance to take on a role as joint wardrobe manager for Everyman, the first drama of this year. From here, I want to take on this managerial level role again and aspire to work closely with costume in the future. Most recently I worked as a sound designer with aspects of engineering with Punchdrunk in our Projects allocation. This opened up a whole new plethora of skills that I plan on refining next year.
What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?
Right now I am open to working in the departments I have been given experience in. I am keen to work with music and stay London based, with the potential of exploring the ever-developing world of immersive theatre. I am very passionate about cueing from music and want to pursue this in the future. Additionally, I have an ever-growing love for things costume related that I would absolutely love to keep working with after I finish at Guildhall.
