Specialist Area: Production Management / Dramaturgy

What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

Meeting like minded individuals and working out of my comfort zones in a range of disciplines. The MA Course has really challenged each and every one of us to try out different disciplines, including LX operation and puppetry. Being in a space that was so supportive and encouraged that range of creativity has been incredibly formative for me as a theatre maker.

What's been your highlight in the industry?

Producing, writing, performing and directing the first show I took to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Crumbled. It was such a joyful and teaching experience in producing a show and I was incredibly proud of the ensemble I founded and created, which lead to my production company Act House’s formation.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

Continuing my creative practise through outside work with my cohort, trying out new, abstract and experimental theatre that challenges traditionally produced theatre. Pushing boundaries in writing and creating something organically and collectively.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

The sheer range of skills, I was able to get work quickly after being trained as an LX operator. I feel the most important however is the ability to work with a range of people in a safe, collaborative and fulfilling environment.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

Continuing to work in a range of theatre, however I would be most interested in working with fringe or smaller companies producing work that grows the ecology of theatre.
