For the finale of Guildhall School’s 2025 Chamber Music Festival, Guildhall School performers and professors present a rich programme of music by Russian composers Rachmaninov, Shostakovich and Stravinsky, plus works by Stamitz and Fauré.
This evening of exquisite chamber music blends passion, elegance and drama. Experience the lively energy of Stamitz's Wind Quartet in E-flat major, the rich, sweeping beauty of Fauré's Piano Quintet in D minor, and the delicate charm of Stravinsky's Pastorale. Rachmaninov’s deeply poignant Piano Trio No. 1 and Shostakovich's powerful Two Pieces for String Octet will bring the 2025 Chamber Music Festival to a thrilling close.
Guildhall professors Joy Farrall (clarinet), Sam Armstrong (piano), Simon Blendis (violin), Fraser MacAulay (cor anglais), Tim Lowe (cello) and Levon Chilingirian (violin) perform in collaboration with Guildhall instrumentalists.
