To celebrate and acknowledge the prolific contribution to art song of the late composer Ned Rorem, this event will focus on his compositions written after the year 2000. It also includes songs written by his pupils whom he taught at the Curtis Institute in the second half of the 20th century including Jennifer Higdon and Daron Hagen, among others.
Image above: Our Town performed by Guildhall opera students in 2022. Ned Rorem adapted Thorton Wilder’s 1938 play into a three-act opera version of Our Town in 2005.
