Biography

Singer-Songwriter, Producer

How would you describe your practice?

I am a singer songwriter and musical producer who is heavily invested in the development of her sound within a categorised musical world. Currently, my musical style is a combination of contemporary R&B, Soul and elements of hip hop. Some of my artists of inspiration include, FKA Twigs, Jhené Aiko, Summer Walker and Erykah Badu.

What has your PACE training taught you?

PACE has taught me to always venture out of my comfort zone and as a result, I have found a sense of grounding in different places. Collaborating with artists from different art-forms has positively transformed my creativity especially through how we produce art as a response to the same commission. For this reason, PACE has helped shape me for the Arts industry by exposing me to the diversity and reality of the industry. This candid experience has encouraged me to truly find my identity as an artist.

How has the PACE programme shaped you for the Arts industry?

PACE has shaped me for the Arts industry by exposing me to the reality of the industry whilst being on the course. Through this candid experience, I have been forced out of my comfort zone into a place which has encouraged me to truly find my identity as an artist.

How would you define your training on PACE?

It has been challenging, but it has enhanced my ability to improve my capabilities. 1-2-1 sessions in Singing and Songwriting and EM as well as masterclasses with artists who are doing what I am striving to achieve has been beneficial and I have received advise and teaching targeted to my crafts.

Is there a particular tutor or project that has inspired you?

Chiel Busscher and Rick Holland have inspired me to always push myself further. They have taught me the ability to ask myself questions as a form of self-reflection and I have therefore been able to narrow down what is important to me as an artist. This has also been achieved through consistently experimenting especially in my craft of musical production.
