Guildhall School's Music Therapy Department has been providing community outreach music therapy to local schools and services since 2013. This presentation will discuss the first part of a project to design and implement an evaluation protocol.

Patrick Duggan is an interdisciplinary performance studies scholar; he is Head of Theatre and Performance, and Associate Professor of Performance and Culture at Northumbria University. His research explores cultural production as a means of investigating the world, as well as object of analysis in it.

In this session Donald Wetherick will present findings from his PhD study of the audition process for the MA Music Therapy training at Guildhall School.

The Drama of Dissection is a performance-based investigation of human anatomical dissection. The project involves creating a performance about medical students' first encounters with human cadavers in the iconic Dissecting Rooms at King's College London.

Dr Marios Aristopoulos's upcoming book The Game Music Toolbox (published by Routledge) explores a range of composition techniques behind the music of 20 iconic video games of the past. In this presentation he will discuss three of them.

Music fills our lives. How we have created, performed and listened to music throughout history has defined what our species is and how we understand who we are. Yet music is an overlooked part of our origin story. This talk, based on Michael's bestselling popular book, The Musical Human, explores the vibrant relationship between music and the human species.

This presentation with look at the process of putting this project together, and the issues faced in 'reviving' a lost library for contemporary ears, and will include filmed performances of some of these wonderful, rarely heard pieces.
